Building Trust and Flexibility
At TAMLO, we prioritise a flexible and respectful work environment. However, achieving this requires mutual respect and becomes easier if each employee focuses solely on their convenience. With consideration, cooperation, and building trust, new employees will gradually find that flexible working arrangements are possible.
Our core employees are based in Europe (including the UK), Tokyo, and Osaka. We also collaborate daily with support employees worldwide, including South Korea, Germany, France, and Spain. Creating this global and collaborative environment is challenging. However, we can overcome challenges like time differences and limited online communication to produce high-quality work because we have built strong trust with each other.
At the same time, we place great importance on supporting our employees' diverse backgrounds and life stages. For example, one employee has relocated to a rural area to support their family, while another works reduced hours or a four-day week to raise their children. Another employee worked remotely for over a month from a location with a time difference of more than 12 hours from Japan. We also provide an environment where employees pursuing an MBA can balance their studies with their work.
Maintaining this flexible work environment requires us to be considerate of each other’s work styles. To facilitate this, TAMLO has created a "Thoughtfulness Guide" and implemented measures to support smooth communication, always considering time zone differences and the languages used in each situation.
TAMLO is a small company, so we discuss challenges and develop solutions when they arise. We don’t have rigid rules or a system that’s been in place for years. Instead, we encourage everyone to share ideas and actively contribute to creating a comfortable work environment. It’s a challenging environment, but that’s precisely why we can maintain a workspace that suits each individual’s lifestyle without being bound by strict rules.
For those who prefer a workplace with pre-established rules and regulations or who prioritise income above all else, TAMLO might not be the best fit. However, we offer a comfortable work environment for those who want to build a future with trustworthy colleagues.
