TAMLO’s Work Environment and Employees
Building Trust and Flexibility
At TAMLO, we place the highest value on approaching our work with mutual respect. What we aim to build is not a team that prioritises “freedom” as a starting point, but one in which each individual makes autonomous decisions and acts with a strong sense of responsibility. Flexible working arrangements are not an objective in themselves; they arise from this mindset.
TAMLO is an agency. All of our work begins with, and is shaped by, our clients. Working across time zones, communicating primarily online, and responding to changing circumstances are realities of agency life. Rather than seeing these as constraints, we expect our team to understand them as a natural premise of working in an agency environment—and to think proactively about how to deliver the best possible outcomes within that context.
Our core team is based across Europe (including the UK and Germany), Tokyo, and Osaka, and we collaborate daily with support team members worldwide. This is not an easy environment, geographically or culturally. For that reason, the ability to anticipate others’ situations, proactively fill in gaps, and continuously learn is essential. The quality of our work is sustained because these assumptions are shared across the team.
While TAMLO respects the diverse backgrounds and life stages of its employees, this does not mean that the company provides a fully predefined environment. Working conditions are not simply given; they are built through trust, proven responsibility, and ongoing dialogue. Team members have adjusted their locations or working hours for family reasons, worked remotely from overseas for extended periods, or balanced their work alongside MBA studies. In every case, this has been made possible through autonomous judgment and consideration for others.
To support effective collaboration, TAMLO has established a “Thoughtfulness Guide” that sets out shared expectations for communication, including awareness of time zones, language, and workload. This is not a rigid rulebook, but a way of articulating the professional standards we expect of ourselves.
TAMLO is a small organisation. We do not have perfectly established systems or ready-made answers for every situation. For this reason, we look for people who do not wait for the company to solve problems; they take the initiative to learn, think critically, propose solutions, and act.
Those who prefer clearly defined rules and highly structured environments, or who prioritise income above all else, may find that TAMLO is not the right fit. However, for individuals who understand the realities of agency work and want to grow as autonomous professionals while delivering meaningful value to clients, TAMLO offers a highly engaging and demanding environment.
We welcome applications from people who are motivated to learn independently, build trust with their colleagues, and deliver high-quality work as part of an agency team.
